The Surrey Speakers Course teaches you how to communicate confidently, persuasively and effectively. The sessions of this six-week course are practical and will increase the value of your speaking ability.Within our 6-week Surrey Speakers Course at Hawthorn you will learn how to overcome nervousness. You will learn how to craft a speech that people want to listen to. You will learn how to use gestures more effectively. You will learn how to use vocal tone and inflection to add meaning to what you say.
Surrey Hills Toastmasters was established within the Balwyn community to address what was seen as a growing community problem: the difficulty people had in confidently presenting their ideas to others. Effective communication a is fundamental for the development of the community and for the well-being of the individuals within it. Stress, anxiety, and negative emotions all hinder the ability of individuals to communicate fluently and confidently. Within Surrey Hills Toastmasters, we teach the techniques to overcome these problems. We teach you how to speak confidently in a public environment.
In our regular fortnightly meetings we have impromptu speeches and we have prepared speeches, all with informative evaluations.
In our intensive short courses we go into detail about how to design and deliver an extraordinary presentation. The mentoring that participants receive during the course sessions increases their communication skills and their presentation skills to an extremely high level.
